One day after launching his statewide “Defending the Florida Dream” Tour in The Villages, Trump-endorsed Byron Donalds made his second stop today in Melbourne, hosting a public safety roundtable alongside Sheriff Wayne Ivey and Florida House Majority Leader Tyler Sirois.
Tuesday’s discussion centered on strengthening public safety and supporting law enforcement, with Donalds outlining his “Zero Tolerance” agenda to keep Florida communities safe.
“Florida must remain a law-and-order state,” said Donalds. “That means backing our law enforcement, enforcing the law, and making it clear that taxpayer-funded benefits are for citizens ONLY. Every dollar collected from Florida taxpayers should go toward strengthening our communities, supporting our seniors, and investing in the people who follow the law, not subsidizing those who break it.”
Donalds’ public safety platform includes ensuring taxpayer-funded benefits are reserved for citizens and legal residents, requiring full cooperation between Florida agencies and federal immigration enforcement, and banning sanctuary policies across the state with no exceptions.
Donalds’ no nonsense law-and-order platform has earned him the endorsements of President Donald Trump, Donald Trump, Jr., Charlie Kirk, Elon Musk, Senator Rick Scott, the majority of Florida sheriffs, U.S. House leadership, 17 members of Florida’s congressional delegation, and more than 75 percent of the Republican caucus in the Florida House.
“As Governor, I will ensure full cooperation between state and federal authorities and make sure every level of government is accountable. In Florida, the rule of law isn’t optional, it’s the foundation of our safe, strong, and prosperous state,” said Donalds.
The Melbourne event built on momentum from Monday’s kickoff, where Donalds introduced his “Your Doctor, Your Price” plan aimed at lowering healthcare and insurance costs for Florida families as part of his broader agenda focused on affordability, achievability, and accountability.
The “Defending the Florida Dream” Tour will continue across the state in the coming weeks, with additional stops focused on public safety, education, and expanding economic opportunity for Florida families.
