New Poll Shows Trump-Endorsed Byron Donalds with 8-point Edge over Democrat in Florida Governor’s Race

A new poll showing Trump-endorsed Republican Byron Donalds with a strong lead over the Democrat in the Florida Governor’s race comes just after poll showing Donalds crushing current and potential Republican primary opponents.

Last week, a new poll showed Byron Donalds’ commanding Republican Primary lead continuing to grow. The poll conducted by Ryan Tyson for The American Promise shows Byron Donalds with an overwhelming lead in the Republican primary for Florida Governor.  Donalds leads potential opponents by wide margins in both the initial and informed ballots. On the initial ballot, Donalds leads both potential Republican candidates Jay Collins and Paul Renner 40% / 2% / 2%. Once voters find out that Donalds is President Trump’s choice to be Florida’s next governor, Donalds’ lead increases to 55 points: 57% Donalds / 2% Collins / 1%  Renner. Donalds’ name ID has also ticked up to 52%, a 14-point uptick, and his favorability has climbed up 11%.

Last week, another poll found him holding a decisive advantage over Democrat David Jolly in a potential general election matchup for Florida Governor.

According to Florida Politics, “Survey results from the AIF Center for Political Strategy show Donalds would win 49% to Jolly’s 41%…The AIF Center, backed by Associated Industries of Florida, conducted the poll from Aug. 25 through 27. Responses from 800 likely Midterm voters were included, with pollsters reporting a margin of error of 3.5%. That means Donalds’ lead falls outside the margin…

Republicans feel confident heading into 2026, as the party enjoys a 1.3-million registered voter advantage over Democrats.”

“The data is consistent and clear. President Trump’s endorsement is the gold standard. Byron Donalds will be Florida’s next governor because he is THE proven conservative fighter endorsed by President Trump.” -Ryan Smith, Chief Strategist for the Byron Donalds for Governor Campaign
